Phase III Clinical Trials → What Happens after a Phase III Study Is Complete?
Once a Phase III study is complete, researchers will compile their information to apply for marketing approval. This application will provide all the information acquired on a drug from preclinical through Phase III trials. New drugs are also required to undergo post-marketing studies, also called Phase IV Clinical Trials, after entering the market.
Approximately 25-30% of drugs move from Phase III to Market Approval and Post-marketing studies.
